Following two previous sold-out runs at The Drama Factory, Cape Ballet Africa returns to premiere a new programme for six performances only at the venue. Experience the magic of one programme, two ballets with this dynamic ballet company\u2019s Petite Giselle and SALT- ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enjoy exquisite excerpts from Maina Gielgud\u2019s traditional Giselle, paired with Michelle Reid\u2019s sizzling Smoke, which is part of Cape Ballet Africa\u2019s much-lauded triple bill SALT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, The Drama Factory audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy the first South African performances of Kirsten Isenberg\u2019s new pas de deux, Nocturne, which premiered at the prestigious international Benois de la Danse 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Choreographed by Maina Gielgud, Cape Ballet Africa presents selected highlights from popular classic Giselle, a romantic story of innocent love and betrayal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maina Gielgud is an internationally acclaimed choreographer, dancer and teacher. She has danced with companies around the world, including Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Australian Ballet, Ballet Nacional de Cuba, CAPAB, PACT, and the London Festival Ballet. She was also the director\/associate director of the Australian Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, and Houston Ballet. With SALT-ed be swept up in the beauty and tour-de-force energy of Michelle Reid\u2019s Smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
